suspect that many si siano trovati nell'imbarazzante situazione in cui il proprio capo pronuncia la fastidiosa ed inopportuna frase "non portatemi problemi, portatemi soluzioni!".
Generalmente ho sempre pensato che la situazione appena descritta qualificasse il capo come un facilone, incapace di cogliere il fastidio dei collaboratori che si sentono rivolgere l'infelice frase fatta.
Con il passare degli anni, però, mi sono reso conto che esiste un'interpretazione della suddetta frase che non è nè frustrante nè ridicola...
Avete presente quando, in un forum tecnico, qualche novellino pone una questione appena meno che ovvia, e si vede rispondere RTFM (read the fucked manual)?

experts usually tend to respond more often (and much more willingly) to those who demonstrate that they have done some research, have at least tried find the answer yourself.
So, I think the positive interpretation of the famous words of the title is just this: the boss wants at least try to find a way, and he comes from not asking for a panacea, but to discern what is the best option among the handful of choices that you have identified to address the problem.

... of course when the forums are a novice who wants a quick and concise answer to your problem without even having tried to risolverselo, you can be reasonably certain that this is a manager.
